How much does an in-house marketing team cost?
30th November 2017
We’ve discussed on this website in a lot of detail the pros and cons of outsourcing your marketing vs employing someone in-house. The bottom line is employing one person won’t cut it as there are so many different skills required in marketing.
So, if you do decide to take your marketing in-house, and realise no one person (however great they are) can do everything how much will it cost?
According to Total Jobs and PayScale these are average salaries for the core parts of your marketing team:
- Marketing Director: £63,290
- Marketing Executive: £23,245
- Copywriter: £29,000
- Graphic designer: £29,000
- Website developer: £24,090
- Search engine optimisation manager: £32,000
- Digital marketing specialist (AKA PPC manager): £25,184
Adding that up gives us: £225,809. And that’s just the start – add national insurance, taxes, pensions, equipment, holiday pay, sick pay, benefits and general employee unproductiveness may add 30% onto that.
